I just really hope the revival of print doesn't make it a niche or bourgeois matter, the way vinyl has become a status symbol. Print caused revolutions. Why keep it to only those who "know"?
couldn't agree more! i think that's part of why i feel strongly about making magazines a regular part of (more) people's regular reading lists again. imo the beauty of old-school newsstands was democratized access to print media. i hope that, if i can create a modernized version of that, plus offer single issues cheaper than big-box stores, then more people will pick up magazines more often! but still early days :)

Right? I miss seeing newsstands, too. I can trace the decline of discourse here in the Philippines to that.
